DESCRIPTION:Novant Health Breast Center mobile unit at Friendship Community Center in Partnership with IFPHA\, (Institute for Preventive Healthcare and Advocacy) and collaborating with retired Oncologist Dr. Michael Messino from Messino Cancer Centers.\nLocation: Friendship Community Center\n142 Shiloh Road\nAsheville\, NC 28803\nTuesday\, May 27\, 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.\nNote: The minimum age for a screening mammogram\non the mobile unit is 35 years of age. \nEarly detection is the best defense against breast cancer\, and Novant is making it easy to get your annual mammogram. The American College of Radiology\nrecommends that women over 40 have an annual mammogram.\nNovant’s mobile unit features:\n• State-of-the-art digital 3D mammography\n• Expert team of technologists\n• On-site convenience\, with the luxury and privacy of\na traditional imaging center \nNote: Schedule your appointment in advance. \nIFPHA (Institute for Preventive Healthcare and Advocacy) and Dr. Michael Messino want to make sure we care for women who may not have necessary access to care who may need it. \nWe are offering for those 29-34 who have a family history of breast cancer or have had breast issues in the past 6 months to come and obtain your mammograms FREE. If you do not have a primary care provider\, ask the Novant breast technicians to have your results sent to Dr. Messino.
