- North Carolina is Officially in Phase 3 of Reopening Process- Learn More
The transition into Phase 3 takes place on Friday, October 2nd at 5 PM. Local leaders and public health officials will continue to monitor trends in Buncombe County to ensure that the move to phase 3 does not push local trends in a negative direction.

- Buncombe County Community Testing Sites Have Changed- Learn More
Buncombe County currently is now offering 2 weekly COVID-19 Community Testing Sites. Testing occurs every Sunday from 1:30-5:30 PM at the Allied Health Building on the AB Tech Campus and every Thursday from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the Buncombe County Sports Park. - NC Offers Relief Payments to Help with Virtual Schooling and Childcare- Learn More
Do you have a dependent child who was 16 or younger at the end of 2019? You may be eligible for a $335 payment to help cover the cost of childcare and virtual schooling.
- Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19 with the SlowCOVIDNC App- Learn More
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has released an app to aid in slowing the spread of COVID-19. The app tracks those you have been around and notifies you automatically if one of your contacts has tested positive for COVID-19. To ensure that all user information stays confidential, the app does not collect, store, or share personal information or location data.

- New Features on the NC COVID-19 Dashboard
NCDHHS added antigen testing to its COVID-19 NC Dashboard, including positive COVID-19 cases and deaths diagnosed with an antigen test and the number of antigen tests completed daily.
The USDA has extended WIC COVID-19 Flexibilities until COVID-19 is no longer a public health emergency.
- Visitation Restrictions Lift at select Nursing Homes
Due to stability in NC's COVID-19 key metrics, NCDHHS updated its Secretarial Order to allow indoor visitation at some nursing homes.
- New COVID-19 Toolkit for the Faith Community
NCDHHS updated its COVID-19 guidance for places of worship and a new toolkit is available to support faith leaders in slowing the spread of the virus.
