MedServe Fellows Can Help You and Your Practice Thrive!
August 29, 2017
WCMS strives to keep our members “in the know” when it comes to valuable resources for our members! When we learned about MedServe, a unique educational pipeline program created by UNC Medical School graduates, we knew it was something that we wanted to share with you.
• Expose future doctors to primary care in rural & other underserved NC communities in a way that inspires them to be life-long champions of health equity – many as primary care doctors
• Provide crucial human capital support to “rock-star” primary care practices implementing high-value, low-cost care in NC communities and disproportionately caring for underserved individuals or communities
For the past 2 years, MedServe has recruited outstanding students to serve 2-year fellowships across the state, at a very low cost to practices, touching 30,000 patients in both clinical and community roles. Here in WNC, there are 4 MedServe Fellows working at Celo Health Center, MAHEC, Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville, and Chatuge Family Practice. In 2018, they expect to place several more Fellows in WNC.
Is your practice a good fit?
