CarePartners opens Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

CarePartners, a local nonprofit health organization and affiliate of Mission Health, has announced the opening of its PACE Center. PACE is a Medicare and Medicaid option that provides community-based care and services to people age 55 or older who otherwise might need to move to a skilled nursing facility.

This means that parents can refuse immunizations for their children based on a non-medical reason. Buncombe County’s exemption rate is almost 5 times higher than the state average and has been climbing steadily for many years.
