This position is part of the primary care clinical care team at Health Services. The Associate Medical Director serves as a staff physician providing patient care through diagnosis and treatment of a variety of illnesses and injuries in a college/university population. Staff physicians are credentialed and privileged to perform their duties according to Health Services policies and procedures.
The Associate Medical Director works within the Division of Student Affairs Health and Wellness Unit to provide intentional collaboration with Campus Recreation and Wellness, Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Services, and Health and Wellness Education for the promotion of overall campus wellness to a diverse campus population to encourage students to stay informed, involved, healthy, and well.
This position is supervised by the Medical Director in Health Services and collaborates with the Medical Director and Health Services Director to make recommendations on the hiring, termination, and other changes in the status of those supervised. This position directly supervises the physician extenders, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the clinic.

Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Requirements: A Medical degree and board certified or eligible.
Experience: One or more years’ experience in clinical medicine, primary care is preferred.
License: Be duly licensed, or eligible to be licensed by the State of North Carolina.
