Our Programs
PROJECT ACCESS®
For Our Community
Provides access to specialty healthcare for low-income, uninsured people in Buncombe and Madison counties, working with a network of more than 700 medical providers and community organizations.
For Healthcare Providers
Offers peace of mind to healthcare providers by connecting their low-income, uninsured patients to specialty care, medication sources and other helpful resources.
WCMS INTERPRETER NETWORK (WIN)
For Healthcare Providers
Provides professional medical interpretation in over 12 languages (including ASL) to combat disparities in care for limited English proficient and Deaf and Hard of Hearing people throughout WNC.
For Our Community
Connects individuals and their families with professional medical interpreters who can provide language services and improve speed and accuracy of communication with healthcare providers and other resources.
HEALTHY HEALER PROGRAM
For Healthcare Providers
Supports physical and emotional well-being for physicians and physician assistants in WNC.
WNC COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENING INITIATIVE
For Our Community
Provides free colorectal cancer screening for uninsured people in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Mitchell, Yancey, Transylvania, Rutherford, Macon, Jackon, Swain, and Polk Counties.
DR. CHARLES BLAIR HEALTH SCHOLAR FUND
For Our Community
Provides scholarships to students from underrepresented communities in Buncombe County who are interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.

WCMS strives to strengthen the well-being of people in need of healthcare and of our entire community. From connecting low-income uninsured people with volunteer physicians to providing colorectal cancer screenings, we are here for the people of Western NC. Our network of 700+ physician and physician assistant members is at the heart of WCMS’s ability to succeed in our mission.
