The Leon Levine Foundation Awards WCMS $50K Grant

June 18, 2024

Asheville, NC – Western Carolina Medical Society (WCMS) is happy to announce that The Leon Levin Foundation has awarded the organization a $50K grant. This generous funding will support WCMS’ ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access and outcomes for underserved populations in Western North Carolina.

The grant will be directed towards WCMS’s flagship programs, including Project Access®, which connects low-income, uninsured patients with free or low-cost medical services, and the WCMS Interpreter Network, which provides medical interpretation services to Limited English-speaking and Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Leon Levine Foundation for their partnership with our agency via this substantial grant,” said Karen Wallace-Meigs, Executive Director of WCMS. “This funding will enable us to expand our reach and enhance our programs, ensuring that even more individuals in our community have access to the quality healthcare they need and deserve.”
